The Skipton and District branch of the NCT (National Childbirth Trust) has been awarded £5,000 from Awards for All to help new mums. The project will allow a new group of breastfeeding peer supporters to be trained, who will help at children’s centres, offering breastfeeding support to new mums. Branch co-ordinator Hazel Smith said: “We are thrilled to have been awarded this Big Lottery grant and are pleased to be working with local children’s centres on this project.” Now the NCT is looking for mums to take part in the training. If you have breastfed your own baby for at least three months and are interested in training to be a peer supporter, email Fay Holian at fay58@btinternet. com or call 0796 0634918.
