A 21-year-old man has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent after a woman from Keighley was stabbed in the back as she left a theatre in Blackpool.
Adam Morgan, from the Promenade, in the seaside town, was also charged with causing criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon and remanded to appear before Blackpool magistrates yesterday.
The 59-year-old woman was leaving the Winter Gardens after watching a show with members of her family when she was approached by a man on a bike, who stabbed her in the back before making off.
She was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital where she remains in a stable condition awaiting tests.
The attack occurred at about 12.30am on Sunday.
A 20-year-old man, also from Blackpool, has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and granted police bail.
