A charity project which will see young people build and learn to drive rally karts is among a clutch of Bradford schemes to be awarded a slice of festive lottery funding.

A total of 36 Yorkshire community groups, seven of which are in Bradford, are sharing more than £311,000 from the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All programme.

Joint Activities and Motor Education Services (JAMES), which works across Bradford, has been awarded £9,932 to get young people from special and mainstream schools working together on the rally kart project and provide them with skills that can be put towards GCSE qualifications or future employment.
