People who commit drugs-related crimes are being targeted by police in a new drive to cut crime in Keighley.
Officers from the Keighley Neighbourhood Policing Team have begun new late-night patrols in Highfield, Victoria Mews, Cliffe Castle and the town centre.
As part of the crackdown officers have seized up to £5,000 of suspected class A drugs in the town centre on Saturday.
Sergeant Craig Marshall, of the Keighley Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We are aware of concerns regarding drug offences and anti-social behaviour in Highfield and are putting more officers in the area to patrol more often in the run-up to Christmas.
“We hope residents will be reassured by the extra resources which are now seeing us patrol later at night in the town centre, Victoria Mews, Cliffe Castle and Highfield areas.”
Anyone with information about crime in Highfields is asked to contact the Keighley NPT on 101 or Crimestoppers, in confidence, on 0800 555111.
