Two people were summoned to appear in court and two others were told to provide their vehicle licence documents after a crackdown by Bradford South Police on metal theft, as part of a national day of action.
Thirteen vehicles were stopped and 15 individuals checked in Bradford South during the joint operation.
More than 30 scrap metal dealers across West Yorkshire were visited and four arrests were made for drugs offences and theft from a shop.
A total of 114 vehicles were stopped.
Chief Inspector Maboob Hussain, of the force’s local policing department, said: “Working together on initiatives such as this will put pressure on those who are stealing metal in the first place and on unscrupulous scrap metal dealers.”
The public is urged to report any suspicious activity via the non-emergency number 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
