Police say thousands of pounds are being stripped from convicted criminals in the Bradford South Division, after a 34-year-old man was ordered to repay more than £5,000 in ill-gotten gains.
Troy Bland was given six months, by a judge at Bradford Crown Court, to pay back criminal assets of £5,039.
Bland, of Leeds Road, Liversedge, had previously been given a six-month suspended prison sentence after pleading guilty to a £94,000 mortgage fraud.
A Bradford South Proceeds of Crime Team spokesman said: “This is just one of the many positive results we have seen recently.
“Taking away a criminal’s ill-gotten gains sends a clear message that crime does not pay. I would encourage anyone who thinks they may know someone living beyond their means to contact us through the Why Should They campaign anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
