A criminal gang was today sentenced to a total of 100 years in prison for a conspiracy to smuggle firearms into the UK from America.
Ring leaders, Bradford men Mohammed Tariq, 33, and Atique Arif, 32, were both given 24-year extended sentences at Bradford Crown Court.
Over a 12-month period, the gang was involved in smuggling a total of 13 firearms into the country, concealing them within 27 packages containing electrical equipment including DVD players and portable radios.
Six other men were jailed for their parts in the conspiracy.
