A Bradford road badly damaged by a massive water burst is now likely to be closed until next week, Yorkshire Water said today.
Water from a fractured pipe shot 40ft into the air and caused a 20ft deep crater in White Abbey Road.
It had been hoped the road would be re-opened by today but while checking the pipes a further problem was discovered, a spokesman for the company said.
Electricity and gas pipes were also being repaired in the road today. According to the information supplied by trafficlink to the T&A website, the road will not reopen until 25 October.
