A massive pipe burst that left many Bradford shops and offices under water is continuing to cause disruption.

Work is continuing to repair the burst, which happened in White Abbey Road on Monday, and to tackle structural damage to nearby buildings.

A number of bus services are affected by the ongoing closure of the road, including numbers 607, 617, 618 and 620.

The road remains closed in both directions between the Lumb Lane junction and the A6177 Carlisle Road junction.

A diversion is in operation, inbound via Little Horton Lane, and outbound via Manchester Road.

Bus service 607 is diverting via City Road, Preston Street and Thornton Road in both directions.

Bus services 617, 618 and 620 are diverting via Market Street, Manningham Lane and Oak Lane.

A spokesman for Metro, which coordinates public transport in West Yorkshire, said: “The general disruption resulting from the closure is likely to cause delays to other bus services in the area.”

These diversions could be in place for the next 48 hours, with the road not expected to reopen until Tuesday.
