A former pool and snooker hall in Shipley which has become a derelict eyesore could be turned into a night-club under new plans.
Developers have submitted a planning application to Bradford Council for a major refurbishment of the old trades hall in Briggate to create a three-storey venue for clubbers.
It would be in the building previously known as Pockets Snooker and Leisure Club and be open until 4am every day, if given the green light by the Council.
Designs put forward by Leeds-based planning agent Simon Eccles, on behalf of the applicant Mr Bharaj, reveal the 320 square metre building would be converted into three floors with an entrance, office and toilets on the ground floor.
There would be a public bar, VIP area and a small dance floor on the lower ground floor and a larger dance floor and DJ booth, another bar and VIP area on the first floor.
The run-down hall, which has become a target for vandals, is attached to the art deco Glenroyal cinema, which has itself fallen into disrepair.
Plans to convert the cinema into flats in a £7 million scheme have been approved but work is yet to start because of the economic downturn.
