Tins of food collected by students at Feversham College will be donated to homeless people in Bradford.
The project was thought up by Samira Afzal and Ikra Ali, pupils at the Cliffe Road school who were inspired to help homeless people after learning about their plight in a citizenship lesson. The tins will now be distributed through the Salvation Army and St Mary’s Church in Leeds Road.
Assistant headteacher Rosina Noor said: “The girls were inspired and taken aback by the plight of the homeless. They have put in a lot of work individually outside of school to make this a success.
“They have gone out of their way to make a difference.”
