Injured Jamie Langley fears he could miss the Engage Super League play-offs and see his Tri-Nations dream ruined.

The all-action Bulls loose forward must have a scan on a long-running groin problem which may require surgery.

Langley did not return for the second half at Wigan on Friday night after finally succumbing to the injury and is now set to miss the closing rounds against Wakefield and Huddersfield.

"The specialist told me there could be a few things wrong but I won't know for certain until we have a scan in a couple of weeks," he said.

"I'll probably be missing the next two games but, with a bit of luck, I might be right for the play-offs.

"I've been carrying the injury for three-and-a-half months and probably overdone it. I reckon it's worse than I might have thought.

"I've tried to brush it under the carpet but my training's dropped off, I haven't been able to prepare well during the week and my performance has suffered too.

"It's been frustrating and it all came to a head at Wigan."

Uncapped Langley, 23, has enjoyed his best season yet and been a real driving force in the Bulls pack.

Impressive form saw him named in Brian Noble's train-on Great Britain squad for this autumn's trip Down Under and he hopes to force his way into the final cut.

But now Langley faces a nervous wait and the England forward admitted: "The worst-case scenario would mean I'd have to go in for an op.

"If I get selected for GB I might have to give it a miss but we'll just have to see what shows up on this scan."
