An unattractive, uneven and damp patch of ground at Horton Grange Primary School has been transformed in to an exciting adventure playground.
The £75,000 project makes use of the natural elements to create slides and climbing frames wound around trees and grassy mounds for imaginative play.
It will be used by 1,200 children who attend Horton Grange and Farnham Primary schools.
Duncan Jacques, head teacher of Horton Grange Primary, said the new adventure playground was the only safe grassed play space available on site and would be a vital community facility.
“We are delighted with the quality of the equipment and hope it is used appropriately and safely for many years to come,” he said.
Children at both primary schools held a competition to name the adventure playground with Spencer Adventure proving the most popular. The project has been funded by the two primary schools, Bradford Council and the Play England charity.
