A pioneering community fair promoting the work done by local organisations will be held in Menston this weekend.
The Menston Community Fair, organised in partnership by two churches and Bradford Council, will take place at Kirklands Community Centre on Saturday.
The first of its type, the fair has been designed to encourage people to get involved in local activities, volunteering and active citizenship.
Games and face painting will be on offer for children, and there will be refreshments on offer.
The event is being organised as part of Active Citizens 2011, a year-long campaign across the Bradford district.
Deputy Leader of Bradford Council, Councillor Imran Hussain hailed small fetes and fairs as a staple of the great British summer, but said the council had worked with community groups to transform the Menston fair into a showcase of all the volunteering and community activities available.
The fair will take from 10am to noon.
