Soap actors and reality TV stars will be donning their football boots to take part in a charity match in Bradford.

Emmerdale’s Danny Miller, who plays Aaron Livesy in the soap, is expected to play alongside Shameless actor Elliott Tittensor, who plays Carl Gallagher, and former Big Brother stars Ziggy Lichman and Anthony Hutton.

The team, which includes other soap actors and some former professional footballers, will be chosen from a pool of stars, depending on their availability and filming commitments.

The stars will take on a team of Yorkshire based DJs in a match to raise money for the British Red Cross.

Money will also go to the soapstars’ chosen charity The Shannon Bradshaw Trust, which helps children with life threatening conditions and their families.

Event organiser, casting agent Richard Harris, said: “A few years ago my sister, who is a doctor, worked in hospitals in Uganda.

“I was moved to hear how little some people live on in other parts of the world – we could easily spend £100 over a weekend but that could be what a family lives on for a year in parts of the world.

“I decided to organise the celebrity charity football match to raise funds for the British Red Cross’ work overseas, because of the fantastic work they do to help vulnerable people.

“We want to pack out the stands, so don’t miss out on your chance to see some of Yorkshire’s favourite soapstars live on the pitch, top-class football and find out who will be crowned celebrity football champions.”

The match will kick off on Saturday at Bradford Park Avenue football club, Horsfall playing fields, Cemetery Road.

Tickets £5, or £3 for children under five and can be bought by phoning (0844) 8700000 or online by visiting theticket sellers.co.uk and searching “charity football fundraiser”.
