A daughter paid tribute to her “amazing” dad who died after getting the all-clear from cancer.

Avid Telegraph & Argus reader Roy Procter, 73, had beaten lymphoma but chemotherapy had left him with lung scarring and shortness of breath.

The day after seeing a respiratory consultant at Airedale General Hospital, he collapsed at his Cullingworth home and died – despite his daughter, Sally Willoughby, trying to save him.

A post mortem examination showed he died from chronic bronchial pneumonia.

Father-of-two Mr Procter had spent the last 30 years caring for his wife, Jane, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis aged 42. He dedicated his life to looking after her and their children – Sally and son Paul.

More than 200 people are expected at Mr Procter’s funeral at St John’s Parish Church, Cullingworth, on Thursday at noon.
