Keighley’s new mayor visited Bradford’s PDSA PetAid hospital.
Councillor Mick Westerman met some of the pet patients he has pledged to raise money for over the coming year.
Coun Westerman was taken on a behind-the-scenes tour of the Jeanne Marchig Centre PetAid hospital in Lorne Street, East Bowling, which treats around 200 sick and injured pets every working day.
It provides free veterinary care to the sick and injured pets of people in need. The hospital, which has seven consulting rooms, two operating theatres and recovery wards, provides more than 66,000 treatments every year– ranging from life-saving surgery to routine appointments and preventive treatments.
The charity relies entirely on public support.
