Organisers of this year’s Saltaire Festival are seeking a crucial ingredient – volunteers.
The programme for this September’s Saltaire Festival is almost ready, acts are booked and the website is about to be relaunched, but the search continues for extra helpers.
There will be a special meeting at Caroline Street Social Club at 7pm on Friday, June 24 for new helpers and anyone wanting to find out more about festival volunteering opportunities.
This year’s festival – from September 8 to 18 – will be the ninth and in an effort to secure the event’s future into its second decade, a professional producer has joined the team.
Directors of the charity which runs Saltaire Festival have appointed Karen Houghton to develop the event and build on its success to date.
She said: “I’m thrilled to have been given this opportunity to support Saltaire Festival.
“As well as assisting the directors and volunteers with this year’s programme, I’m busy securing funds and support for the future.
“We’re planning some exciting new events to make the tenth anniversary event even more special.”
