Firefighters were called to rescue a suspected car thief who climbed on to a house roof and refused to come down.
The man scaled the chimney stack of a house in Avondale Road, Shipley, following a police chase at about 12.15am today.
The pursuit had ended when the BMW car he was driving collided with a parked car.
The man fled the scene and police chased him through an alley before he climbed on to the roof of a neighbouring house and then on to the chimney stack.
Police negotiators were at the scene for about three hours and eventually talked the man down.
He was lowered to safety by Shipley firefighters and arrested by police.
