A new network for amateur dramatics societies has been formed, thanks to £5,000 from Bradford Council and Bcreative. The Bradford Amateur Theatre (BAT) network – set up following recent meetings involving members of societies and drama groups – is aimed at encouraging, promoting and celebrating the district’s amateur arts scene.
The network plans to launch a website, expected to be up and running at the end of April. BAT chairman Anthony Cross is from Bingley Little Theatre, and committee members include Margaret Wilcok from Bingley Amateurs and Samuel Collier and Mike Alred from Bradford Youth Players. “Any amateur organisation connected with theatre can apply for membership of the network, which is free,” said Sam. “The committee can be contacted on 07964 689176 or melodyne@talktalk.net.
