A man’s body has been found next to a children’s playground in a Bradford park. Large parts of Brackenhill Park, in Great Horton, were cordoned off on Saturday morning as officers and forensic experts examined the scene where the dead man was found.

The victim, who has not been named, is believed to be in his 20s and was found next to a large children’s play area close to the southern entrance of the park on Hollingwood Lane.

Police tape surrounded the fenced play area and forensic experts carried out their work inside a white tent put up around the body.

Officers carried out door-to-door enquiries along Hollingwood Lane and Brackenhill Drive after the alarm was raised at about 7am.

A police spokesman said investigating officers were not treating the death at suspicious, but enquiries are continuing.

“We were called at around 7am to reports of a sudden death of a man at Brackenhill Park, off Hollingwood Lane, Bradford,” he said.

“Enquiries are still at an early stage, but at this stage the death is not believed to be suspicious.”
