Steve McNamara hailed his side's fierce determination after they turned the tables and cut loose on sorry Castleford last night.

After falling badly at Harlequins, Bulls banished that painful memory by hammering the Tigers 48-10 at Grattan Stadium.

They ran in nine tries to immediately reclaim those two Super League points docked on Monday for breaching the salary cap.

And they did it with some real punch.

McNamara said: "We physically didn't turn up last week and played soft.

"That's tough for any side to take but that's what we did in London.

"We certainly rectified that in training when we tore into each other and I think we pretty much carried that on to nearly the full game against Cas.

"Everyone last week was under some pressure in terms of what they came up with and they got that put on them tonight.

"But they've responded to a man in the right manner and I'm reallypleased for them."

The Bulls only led 18-4 at the break but destroyed Castleford in the second half, regaining their pride after last week's debacle with a dominant display.

Karl Pryce (2), Ben Harris (2), Brett Ferres, Lesley Vainikolo, Brad Meyers, Stanley Gene and Chris McKenna all dived over for tries, Deacon booting six conversions.

Frustrations boiled over in the dying stages when young Cas forward Jason Payne was sent off for committing two reckless head hightackles in under a minute.

While Bradford strengthen their hold on fourth spot, their demoralised opponents remain just one point above the drop zone, clinging on to their Super League lives after rivals Wigan pulled off a 14-10 success over Huddersfield to go above them.

Wakefield's survival hopes also remain in the balance with three games remaining after a 14-12 home defeat against Leeds, who snapped a run of five consecutive defeats.
