Young performers at Stardom School for Performing Arts in Shelf will be celebrating their achievements over the past year at an awards ceremony held at Halifax’s Victoria Theatre next month.
Former Stardom student Tom Milner, who stars in BBC1 school drama Waterloo Road and has appeared in Holby City, will present the awards.
“It’s called Celebration of Achievement and will be a combination of prize-giving and performance,” says principal Liz Davies.
“All the students will perform a wide variety of song-and-dance routines, drama monologues, duologues and choral singing.
“The main awards will recognise effort, enthusiasm, improvement, increasing confidence and a positive attitude. We will also recognise children who have landed professional television, theatre and film roles.
“The final award will be for Student of the Year, and the prize will be a trophy and a 12-month Stardom scholarship.”
