A larger-than-normal attendance is expected at a City Hall meeting on Tuesday when the future of the dilapidated Odeon building in the centre of Bradford is set to be discussed.
The issue is on the agenda of the regeneration and economy overview and scrutiny committee at 5.30pm.
The building has been earmarked for demolition to make way for the £40 million New Victoria Place development of offices, apartments, a hotel and a restaurant.
Developer Langtree Artisan has received planning approval and conservation area consent and the development is ready to start when anchor tenants have been secured.
A report in Saturday’s Telegraph & Argus revealed that £640,000 of taxpayers’ money had been spend on maintaining, securing and repairing the building by Yorkshire Forward.
