A sell-out crowd has been enjoying a fine selection of real ales at the Ilkley Beer Festival.

And the organisers are urging people to apply for money raised from the event.

The festival, run by the Ilkley and District Round Table, is expected to have raised about £30,000 for good causes, and charities and community groups are being asked to apply for funding.

Groups to have received help in the past include CTI 2000, which helps children with learning difficulties with horticultural projects, and sports groups such as Ilkley Harriers, town cricket clubs and football and rugby teams.

Money has also been allocated to hospices and cancer charities across the district.

Round Table spokesman Richard Walton said the festival was going from strength to strength.

This year’s festival featured the gold, silver and bronze winners of CAMRA’s cider and perry awards as well as ales from Ilkley Brewery Company and Pool-in-Wharfedale’s Wharfebank Brewery.
