An arsonist who murdered two children and their mother in a revenge attack at their Bradford home was today given three life sentences and told he will serve a minimum of 29 years in jail.
Asjid Mahmood, 22, was last month convicted by a Bradford Crown Court jury of the murders of Iram Shah, her daughter Alina, ten, and son, Aman, eight, by starting a fire at their home in Hendford Drive, Pollard Park, Bradford, shortly after midnight on July 6 last year.
His brother Arshed Mahmood, 18, who was convicted of three counts of manslaughter, was today locked up for 17 years.
Jailing Asjid Mahmood, the judge Mr Justice Coulson, told him he had committed an "appalling and horrific crime".
