Ilkley is helping to get a new world record sewn up as the town flies the flag for Fairtrade Fortnight.
People are being invited to decorate their own piece of bunting in a bid to bring some colour to prominent landmarks.
The bunting will be sent to the Fairtrade Foundation after Fairtrade Fortnight – February 28 to March 13 – ready for a world record attempt in May for the longest continuous length of handmade cotton bunting.
Create craft café in Ilkley’s Victorian Arcade, South Hawksworth Street, is inviting people to drop in and decorate a section of bunting between 10.30am and 5pm from March 1 to 4, and from March 8 to 11.
Anyone interested in holding a Fairtrade event can contact karen.palframan@talktalk.net or call 07703778261.
