Colin Todd is considering making his first changes of the season.

City have fielded the same starting line-up in all three games so far.

But despite winning the last two, Todd may have a re-think before Saturday's trip to relegated Crewe.

Eddie Johnson and Nathan Doyle have given him food for thought with their lively performances after coming off the bench against Gillingham.

Both came on just before the hour when City trailed 2-1 and made their mark in the remarkable comeback win.

Now they are pushing for first starts at the expense of the two players they replaced at the time, David Graham and Richard Edghill.

Todd said: "I've got a decision to make up front and at right back and I'll not hide the fact.

"I've got to look at the Carlisle Cup game on Tuesday as well because I'm going to have people who can't play in the game. I haven't decided yet but it might have some bearing on it.

"The most important factor is that if I do make changes and whatever side I put out, the players must respond. They might be disappointed but it's a squad game."

Todd is predicting an entertaining clash at Gresty Road between two sides who like to pass the ball.

He added: "It's got the makings of a very attractive game if we can continue to play in the manner we have done.

"We've shown great consistency for periods of matches and the second half last week was absolutely outstanding. If we can harness that form together for longer spells then we will be fine."
