Two men have been warned to expect prison sentences for violently attacking Bradford prostitute Suzanne Blamires only months before she was viciously murdered by Crossbow Cannibal Stephen Griffiths.

The Slovakians pleaded guilty at Bradford Crown Court yesterday to assaulting Miss Blamires, 36, and causing her actual bodily harm on December 13, 2009.

In May last year, Miss Blamires, who lived in Barkston Walk, Allerton, was brutally slain by Griffiths, who is serving three whole-life sentences for the murders of three women.

Jaroslav Balog, 34, of Lidget Place, Lidget Green, Bradford, and Jiri Soukal, 22, of Stanmore Place, Lidget Green, attacked Miss Blamires in City Road, Bradford.

The men kicked and punched her to the head and body as she curled up on the ground screaming.

Judge Robert Bartfield told the men, who both had interpreters: “It is likely that the court will impose a prison sentence but it will be up to the judge to decide how long it will be.”

They will be sentenced on February 11 after the preparation of probation service reports.

Both defendants were remanded back into custody.

Miss Blamires’ dismembered body was found in and near the River Aire in Shipley.

Described as bright and articulate, Miss Blamires started to train as a nurse after leaving school. She turned to prostitution to fund her problems with drugs and alcohol.
