A terrified woman was robbed at gunpoint of her expensive car as she filled up with petrol.

The 31-year-old victim was filling her Mercedes-Benz S320 with fuel on a garage forecourt when two men appeared out of the shadows, one of them brandishing a firearm.

The pair threatened the woman and forced her to hand over her car keys.

They then leaped into the Mercedes and drove off.

The victim was unhurt but was extremely shocked by her ordeal.

Detectives at Bradford South CID are now studying CCTV footage from the garage, the Total filling station at the Staithgate roundabout on Rooley Avenue, Odsal, Bradford, in the hope that the armed robbers have been caught on camera.

The carjacking happened at 11.30pm on Sunday.

The woman was the only customer at the time, but halfway through the robbery another car pulled on to the forecourt and the occupants alerted police.

It is thought there may have been other witnesses to the robbery in the garage shop and police are appealing for them, or anyone else who saw the incident, to come forward.

They are also investigating a possible sighting of the stolen car which was driven off from a garage in Huddersfield late on Monday night without paying for petrol.

The victim has been interviewed by detectives and has given a statement.

Police are hunting two Asian men. One was aged between 24 and 26, slim, about 5ft 9ins tall, with black hair gelled forward and short at the sides.

He had a clear complexion and a sharp nose and was wearing a blue long-sleeved top and blue stone-washed jeans.

His accomplice was thin, 5ft 5ins to 5ft 6ins tall, and may have had discoloured skin on the left side of his face.

Any witnesses, or anyone who has seen the Mercedes-Benz since the robbery, should ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, or contact the help desk at Bradford Central police station on (01274) 376459.
