The British Boxing Board of Control tend to pack a punch every bit as powder puff as Audley Harrison.
But let’s hope they finally discover the heart for a fight when “Fraudley” faces them on December 8 – and refuse to release his fee for the David Haye showdown that never was.
I walked back in from holiday this week to all-round abuse over my pre-fight prediction of an upset victory.
Yep, bang to rights. While I didn’t buy into the ridiculous hype, I did genuinely feel that Harrison would unload a decade of frustration and ridicule with one display justifying that Sydney gold medal from so long ago.
That shows what I know… The pride may have taken a blow but at least the Parker purse remained unscathed.
A glitch with our Sky meant that we couldn’t buy the fight on the night.
After much cursing and swearing at the automated voice on the “helpline”
advising me to contact the same message on another number, it meant the radio instead.
So, thankfully, the farce cost me nothing – and I still felt short-changed.
