Bradford Photographic Society is celebrating its 150th anniversary with an exhibition of work by members past and present.

A selection of photographs taken from the society’s archives of Bradford in the late 19th and early 20th century are on display.

The exhibition at City Hall until November 15 has been attended by the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Peter Hill, who is the society’s patron.

All photographs are for sale, with proceeds going to the Lord Mayor’s Appeal supporting the Nell Bank outdoor centre in Ilkley.

“When you consider that 150 years ago photography had just started and was regarded as a new science, the society was at the forefront,” said honorary president Paul Richards.
