Five people were among those rescued by firefighters yesterday after becoming trapped in their car in floodwater.
Firefighters are urging people to drive safely in adverse weather after the car became stuck in Heslaker Lane, Carleton, near Skipton, at about 8.20am when the River Aire burst its banks.
The Environment Agency last night issued flood warnings in several areas across the district.
Flood warnings were in place on the River Wharfe at Otley, Burley in Wharfedale, Bolton Bridge and at Denton Road in Ilkley.
