Colin Todd will turn to yet another option in a bid to solve City's left back headache.

Former Everton youngster Sean Wright, who only arrived at Valley Parade on Monday, lasted just 45 minutes at Shrewsbury last night before being taken off.

The 19-year-old follows Frenchman Sylvan Meslien out of the door, meaning that Todd will have to use a third different player in the role in the next friendly at Boston on Saturday.

He has already got an experienced defender in mind and plans to get in touch with him today.

City looked sluggish and careless as they lost 2-1 at Gay Meadow. Ironically, the winner was scored by former Bantam Andy Cooke, on trial with the League Two side.

An unimpressed Todd said: "We've gone from one extreme to another. On Saturday we started off very brightly, played with purpose and moved the ball well but last night the passing was poor and we kept giving the ball away.

"We couldn't penetrate and there were too many people making elementary passing mistakes. It wasn't the heat, we just let our standards slip.

"I'm trying to install good habits into them and one thing we must learn is that when we are losing, I've got to see more application and determination.

"We're fine when we're winning the game and it's becoming nice and easy. But it's the other side of the coin, when you're behind and chasing the game and back-tracking.

"You've still got to have that drive and purpose to make sure the other team are put under pressure and we didn't do that."

Skipper David Wetherall added: "We just never got going. It was a poor performance all round."
