Soldiers from the 72 Engineer Regiment put Guiseley students through their paces when they called in to school on a gruelling 548 mile march.
Led by Captain Joanna Haughton, members of the regiment challenged Guiseley School students to negotiate their way through across a series of obstacles in a team exercise.
The regiment passed through the district in the middle of an epic trek starting and ending in Gateshead. The ‘Marathon a Day’ march has already taken the soldiers up to the Scottish borders and south of Sheffield.
The 23-day march is raising awareness of the Armed Forces and the role of the Reservist, and is raising money for charity.
Members of the regiment also dropped into the set of Emmerdale, on the Harewood Estate, to meet the cast.
The march comes to a close on Sunday, when the soldiers will take part in the Great North Run.
