A young sporting ambassador has paid an inspirational visit to a Shipley school.

Swimmer Anne Bochmann, 17, who won three gold medals at the European Junior Championships in Belgrade in 2008, visited Titus Salt School, to talk to pupils.

The young swimmer is from Norwich but is currently based at Woodhouse Grove School, Apperley Bridge, having moved to be closer to her coach.

Sue Foster, extended schools co-ordinator at Titus Salt School, in Higher Coach Road, Baildon, said: “She was amazing.

“She’s quite young so she really struck a chord with the youngsters – someone their age putting in a huge amount of training and doing all the school work at the same time.

“She was inspiring.”

Miss Bochmann is an ambassador for the Wells Sports Foundation, which supports grassroots sports projects.
