People are being asked to walk along Morecambe promenade to raise awareness of pancreatic cancer.
Former Silsden woman Kate Hardcastle, whose brother Terry died from the disease, is organising the event.
She hopes to get 97 people carrying purple balloons on November 27 as part of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Week.
The number represents the fact that 97 per cent of people diagnosed with the illness die from its effects. Diagnosis is very often too late to save sufferers.
Miss Hardcastle, 65, hopes a local coach company will sponsor people from the Keighley area to travel to Morecambe.
Silsden Town Band has agreed to perform at Morecambe Parish Church before the candlelit procession along the promenade.
