A family charity night is being staged by the Bronte Tractor Runs Group to raise cash for several causes.

The event – at the Rock & Heifer pub, Rock Lane, Thornton, on Saturday, September 25 from 7pm – will include a race night, disco and raffle.

Proceeds will be split between the Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT), 8th Keighley (Cross Roads) Scouts and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

Louise Turner, for the tractor group, said: “We have decided to support the TCT as Jethro Rainford, who comes along on some of our runs with his father, Peter, was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer in February. Thanks to radical surgery, the future looks bright for him.

“Jethro is also a member of 8th Keighley Scouts who at the moment are in the middle of fundraising for much needed new equipment.”

She added: “This is our tenth year of raising funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and along with our run on December 27 we hope to make it an extra special one.”

Tickets for the charity night are £5, including a buffet. Under fives are admitted free.

Tickets can be obtained from Louise on 07855 172262, Dawn Allsopp on 07901 528326, Stanley Turner on 01535 643391 or 8th Keighley Scout troop.
