Girl Guides who sponsored the training of a guide dog raised £1,311 during a visit by its new owner.
About 250 people and 18 puppies and working guide dogs attended an open afternoon organised by the 1st Burley and Wharfedale Guides as part of Burley-in-Wharfedale’s summer festival.
The guest of honour was a Labrador called Burley who was brought by the Guides in 2008 after they raised more than £5,000. He was accompanied by his new owner Bob Dysart, who lives in Lancashire.
Guide leader Sue Vint said: “Bob was thrilled to meet and talk to the Guides. The Guides were delighted to see Burley again and watch him working with his owner, Bob.”
