Young story writer Darnell Evans visited Bradford Royal Infirmary to hand over funds he raised for its neo-natal unit by selling some of his work.
The eight-year-old, a pupil at Grove House Primary School, Bolton, Bradford, sold the latest installment of a tale about a dragon to neighbours and friends, raising £147 for the unit.
The story, entitled The Million Dollar Man: Curse Of The Stone Dragon, is about a dragon who gets glued to the spot.
His fundraising efforts were boosted by a donation from his mother Claire’s employers, Sovereign Solicitors, in Shipley.
Mrs Evans, of Shipley, said: “He hasn’t finished charity fundraising and is thinking of what he can do next. A special well done to a wonderful boy from all his family.”
