More than 70 drivers were caught speeding in Ilkley and Addingham in three Speedwatch operations.
Two Speedwatch sessions on the busy A65 through Ilkley caught 50 speeding vehicles, and another operation in Ilkley Road, Addingham, tracked down 22 vehicles breaking the 30mph limit. Police plan to do more Speedwatch checks and casualty-reduction operations in future.
The first Speedwatch check took place on the A65 Skipton Road, Ilkley, at its junction with Easby Drive. A total of 28 vehicles were exceeding the 30mph limit.
Another operation took place in the same area a week later, catching 22 vehicles.
A Police Community Support Officer and civilian volunteer carried out a Speedwatch operation on Ilkley Road, catching 21 speeding drivers.
Four Speedwatch operations have also taken part in Burley-in-Wharfedale this month. Fourteen vehicles were caught exceeding the 40mph limit in Bradford Road, with one breaking the 30mph limit in Main Street.
Police are also urging drivers to pull over safely before using mobile phones.
