I have been reviewing the agenda for the next Bradford Property Forum meeting, and it has brought home to me exactly how much does get done in four weeks and during the holiday season.

Last month saw our showcase meeting and AGM with more than 80 attendees and more than 20 business exhibitors.

Further meetings have taken place with the Council on its review of listed buildings. Good work has been done here and a clearer understanding of our most at-risk buildings has emerged, as has the desire for both Bradford Council and the Forum to work closer in this area.

Planning is going well for the remainder of the year’s meetings. In September, we welcome Gary Verity of Welcome to Yorkshire and Bradford Council’s Patricia Tillotson to flag up the importance of tourism to business. In November, we have some keynote speakers taking a look at some of the major schemes set to improve the city.

Many BPF members attended the transport summit in Keighley in June, while several also attended an excellent Chamber breakfast seminar on Local Enterprise Partnerships. Submissions are required early next month and all concerned are working extremely hard.

I was pleased to represent the Forum at the launch of BUG – Bradford Urban Garden – confirming how well all this came together with Westfield, Yorkshire Forward and Bradford Council working in harmony to deliver a super space.

A fantastic effort by a committed group of individuals and businesses who really do want to see change in Bradford for the better.
