Comedian Russell Howard will headline a comedy extravaganza organised by the University of Bradford Students’ Union to raise funds for its student radio station RamAir.

The station celebrates its 30th anniversary in October, a month after it hopes to move into new studios in the new Students Union building.

RamAir is raising £40,000 to secure the new studio and state-of-the-art equipment. The comedy night on Saturday, August 14, is one of many comedy events the Students’ Union has organised showcasing up and coming comedians such as Alun Cochrane, Tom State and Chris Ramsey.

The event will be headlined by Russell, star of BBC2’s Mock the Week and BBC3 show Russell Howard’s Good News.

The two-hour event will also feature Edward Gamble, of the Peacock and Gamble podcast, Steve Hall, as seen on BBC3 show We Are Klang, and Dan Atkinson, who has been the warm-up for hit shows including Never Mind the Buzzcocks.

RamAid, the appeal to raise money for RamAir, is looking for sponsorship to help reach its total. For more information on the appeal, e-mail unu-mmc@bradford.ac.uk.
