Ever wanted to become a music video star? If you are over 16 and live in Bradford, this could by your chance.

Hip hop artist Rahul Sabbarwal is shooting a video in the city from Saturday and is looking for a cast of extras to support him.

The 21-year-old Bradford College student has raised funds and dug deep in his own pocket to make the community music video I’m A Warrior happen.

Rahul, who has already set up a business to run music workshops in a bid to help keep youngsters away from crime and drugs and alcohol abuse, wants young people in the city to join him on the anti-violence and drugs video. The result will be sent out to more than six TV channels for screening including MTV, Channel AKA, Flaunt and Starz.

His track I’m A Warrior has already been in the Sky Digital AKA music chart, reaching number six.

Rahul was able to set up his own MRS Records business after winning a Bradford Enterprise business competition.

He says music helped him overcome racist taunts he suffered as a child. He has also now been made an ambassador for the Council’s B-Someone campaign, which aims to benefit young people.

Rahul, who lives off Manchester Road, is getting professional help with the shoot from Bradford-based video director and editor Steve Call.

The community video will be filmed in a number of locations around the city centre including the subway near the National Media Museum.

It starts this Saturday at 10am and finishes on Friday, July 16, at 2pm. Anyone interested should e-mail management@mrsrecords.co.uk

Rahul said: “We’re getting massive interest, we’ve been putting the word out. There are lots of different roles for people to take on.”
