Vintage cars and football mascots provided some of the entertainment at Wrose Carnival on Saturday.
The City Gent and Billy Bantam were on hand to entertain the hundreds of visitors to the carnival, which also featured several funfair rides and a bonny baby contest.
Michael Masleczko, secretary of the Wrose Carnival committee, said he believed a record number of people turned up to the event. He said: “It was absolutely wonderful – it was obviously a brilliant day weatherwise and it looked like we had record crowds there. All the stall-holders were really shocked by the numbers that turned out.
“It’s hard to estimate how many were actually there but Wrose Rec-reation Field was full.”
