Everything must go at a social club shutting after more than half a century.

Bradford’s Hungarian Club comes to the end of an era this month, but before shutting for the last time the club has to clear the premises completely.

That means chairs, barstools, tables, pots, pans, plates and glasses are all available – as well as the industrial-sized cooker.

The club’s committee tried to give it all away to charity but there is still lots left.

Now members have decided to try selling it to the public and all the proceeds will go to charity.

Treasurer Steven Kovacs said any offers would be welcome for the goods.

People can go to 4 Walmer Villas in Manningham, Bradford, from 10am to 2pm on Sundays July 11 and July 18.

Membership numbers have dwindled since the club opened in the 1950s.

“It’s very sad but some nights there were only four of us in,” said Mr Kovacs.

Members will now join the Estonian Club in Mornington Villas.

After the Hungarian Revolution in the 1950s there were an estimated 2,000 Hungarians living in Bradford.

Proceeds from the Sunday sales will partly go to victims of recent Hungarian floods.

Also going to Hungary will be a plaster of paris memorial to the 1956 Hungarian Revolution.
