A Burley-in-Wharfedale man has died after being hit by a train near Ilkley.
The man, believed to be 20, has not been named. He died at the scene, near Ilkley railway station.
British Transport Police (BTP) are not treating the incident as suspicious.
A BTP spokesman said: “BTP officers attended the line close to Ilkley rail station on Wednesday after a report that a man had been struck by the 10.21pm Ilkley to Leeds service train.
“Officers from BTP and the West Yorkshire Police attended the incident, which was reported to police at 10.30pm and is currently being treated as non-suspicious.
“Paramedics from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service also attended but the man, believed to be 20 years old from Burley-in-Wharfedale, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“A file will be prepared for the Coroner.”
