Pupils at Greatwood School, Skipton, had a double treat for pensioners on a housing estate.
They invited the residents to an ugly bug ball – and then entertained them with a clown dance.
“This was to help strengthen the links between the school and the local community,” said a school spokesman.
The ugly bug ball was inspired by the school’s visit to Butterfly World in Leeds, where youngsters in years two, three and four learnt all about minibeasts and saw some bugs they had never seen before.
