A 69-year-old woman pedestrian has died following a road crash in Manningham Lane, Bradford, at about 5.30pm yesterday.

The incident, near the junction with Oak Lane, Manningham, involved a Vauxhall Astra driven by a 23-year-old man.

The woman was taken by ambulance to Bradford Royal Infirmary where she later died, said a West Yorkshire Police spokesman today.

Officers sealed off Manningham Lane, between the junctions with Oak Lane and Marlborough Road, for several hours last night as a detailed investigation of the scene took place.

The dead woman was not being named until relatives have been informed. Anyone who was in the area at the time or who can help the inquiry has been urged to contact the West Yorkshire Police Major Collision Enquiry Team on (01924) 293047.
