A teenage driver has died in hospital – three weeks after a city centre crash.
Mohammed Sohail, 17, of Harrogate Terrace, Undercliffe, Bradford, was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary with serious injuries after the collision between two cars in Sunbridge Road.
Three other men were also injured in the crash, which happened at the junction with Akam Road shortly before midnight on June 3.
Mr Sohail had been driving a Volkswagen Golf which was in a collision with a Toyota Auris. Firefighters cut two men free from the wreckage of the Toyota, and two other passengers in that vehicle were treated for minor injuries.
Police had to cordon off the road in both directions for more than an hour while officers investigated the crash.
Two fire crews from Fairweather Green and one from Bradford also attended.
Yesterday an inquest was opened and adjourned pending further inquiries into Mr Sohail’s death.
The crash is now being investigated by West Yorkshire Police’s Major Collision Investigation Unit. Anyone with any information should contact (01924) 293047.
